Astute Bloodstock

Astute Bloodstock is a boutique bloodstock agency based in Sydney, founded by Louis Le Metayer in 2013. We’re known for sourcing elite racehorses and broodmares often from modest investments, guided by a simple philosophy: only buy the horses we’d want to own ourselves.

With over 40 years of combined international experience, we’ve purchased top horses from France, England, New Zealand, and Australia. Our approach is deliberately selective, averaging fewer than 20 purchases per year, with a clear focus on quality over quantity. This strategy consistently delivers elite results without relying on high-volume buying.
