Astute Bloodstock active in Kentucky

After two years of Covid isolation in Australia, it was wonderful to be able to travel again and to attend the Fasig -Tipton and Keeneland mare sales in Lexington.

It was a long time since I worked in Kentucky as an intern for Keeneland while riding trackwork for the leading trainer Todd Pletcher and coming back to Lexington brought some fond memories.

Fasig Tipton had assembled an exceptional catalog of elite race mares and a staggering 26 of them sold above US$1M in one evening.

The following day was the Keeneland mare sale which is the largest of its kind and it brings some of the world's best breeders, bloodstock agents, and horsemen together in one location.

It was wonderful to reconnect with plenty of friends from around the world who participated in the auction.

I was able to purchase 3 mares for various clients, two of them will head to Australia and the 3rd one is on her way to Normandy.

Last Saturday was a special day for Astute Bloodstock given that each of our 5 runners rose to the occasion and won convincingly at Royal Randwick and Flemington. Our priority at work is to select and purchase future elite racehorses so it was a thrill to see 3 winning at Gr.2 level.
