Bebeautiful

The well named French 3yo filly BEBEAUTIFUL (Le Havre) provided her new Australian owners with a thrill when she won her 3rd start for the year in a Listed race over 1900m in Deauville yesterday.

Closely related to the globe trotting international champion Gordon Lord Byron, BEBEAUTIFUL is building an impressive CV, with 5 starts for 2 second placings as a 2yo and 3 wins in a row this year in France.

The rich black imposing filly caught the eye of bloodstock agent Louis Le Metayer from Astute Bloodstock, who built a partnership last week to secure the filly only 48 hours before her Listed win. He was delighted with the purchase; “prominent owner Brae Sokolski came to France last summer and gave me an order for a good filly so I am thrilled that BEBEAUTIFUL could deliver this result for us.”

The partnership also includes boutique farms Lustre Lodge, Robrick Lodge as well as HARLEM’s part owners John, Ros and Jono Andrews, and owners Manoj Wanzare, Paul Tomsic and Richard Mews.

Bebeautiful is also related to Barney Roy who gave the filly a nice pedigree update after winning his second Gr1 at Meydan on Saturday.

The filly will now join the stables of Chris Waller, who’s had plenty of success with European imports.

The impressive debut of Midlife Crisis (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) in a 2-year-old maiden at Deauville in France on Tuesday owed more than just a little to the foresight of Australian-based agent Louis Le Metayer of Astute Bloodstock, who sourced his dam, The Hunt Is On (Manhattan Rain) for his French breeders, Haras d'Etreham.
