Harlem dominates in the Naturalism Stakes Gr3

Back in the summer of 2015 while attending most French race meetings Nico and I identified HARLEM as an ideal Cup prospect to import to Australia. Bred by Juddmonte Farm and trained by champion trainer Andre Fabre the gelding showed very good form at group level in France.

HARLEM was then entered in the Tattersalls Octobre horses in training sales and he was the only horse there that we really wanted. In order to avoid a bidding war, we decided to team up with one of our competitors Alistair Donald who looked keen on the horse.

Despite our joint effort, the bidding war did happen and Harlem was then purchased on behalf of a Chinese/Australian partnership for 520 000 GNS.

It is nice when a plan comes together particularly after today dominant victory in the Naturalism Stakes Gr3.

We would like to thank the Lindsay Park team and all the owners who followed our recommendation to buy the horse.  We very much look forward to seeing Harlem compete in the $3 million Caulfield Cup Gr1 on the 21st of October.

Last Saturday was a special day for Astute Bloodstock given that each of our 5 runners rose to the occasion and won convincingly at Royal Randwick and Flemington. Our priority at work is to select and purchase future elite racehorses so it was a thrill to see 3 winning at Gr.2 level.
