POETIC DREAM heads to Australia
POETIC DREAM the lightly raced colt (only 5 starts) won the German Guineas Gr2 (1600m) in an impressive time of 1.34.8 which is 1 to 2 seconds faster than the previous 6 winners of the Caulfield Guineas.
Poetic Dream is currently rated 116 with Timeform. Today they are only three 3yo in Australia with a better Timeform Rating.
POETIC DREAM was purchased last Saturday at the Arqana Arc sale for 900 000 Euros by Astute Bloodstock and Lindsay Park Racing.
The horse is a superior athlete with great presence and class. See link to conformation video.
Although POETIC DREAM hasn’t race beyond a mile yet, he is a very relaxed horse with a long sustain acceleration. His racing style indicates that he needs further. Also, he is out of a POLIGLOTE mare and this son of Sadler’s Wells has been an excellent influence of stamina in France for many years. POLIGLOTE sired 8 Gr.1 winning stayers including 2012 Arc winner SOLEMIA.
We are continuously studying European racehorses that would suit Australian racing at the elite level and we strongly feel that POETIC DREAM will be competitive at Gr.1 level from 1600m to 2500m in Australia. He may well turn out a true stayer and could target the Melbourne Cup in years to come. During the last 5 years, 12 of the 15 firsts 3 in the Melbourne Cup were 6yo or more so we have time to get there.
My father used to say " keep your powder dry for the right horse" and this is exactly what we have done here.

Last Saturday was a special day for Astute Bloodstock
Last Saturday was a special day for Astute Bloodstock given that each of our 5 runners rose to the occasion and won convincingly at Royal Randwick and Flemington. Our priority at work is to select and purchase future elite racehorses so it was a thrill to see 3 winning at Gr.2 level.
